Embalmer


Job Description (Embalmer)
Maspons Funeral Home Embalmers work to use their experience and professionalism to serve our families and honor the deceased. This role is for a dedicated Embalmer who will respectfully and precisely perform all embalming activities in line with the proper training and procedures. Embalmers must be licensed and certified in the state of Florida.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform variety of tasks with respect and care for the deceased, including but not limited to verifying the identity of the deceased and following protocols for appropriate paperwork and chains of custody, performing restorations, cosmetizing as applicable, all other preparation required in each specific case
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the preparation room
  • Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to, including state and federal regulations and licensing requirements
  • Safely dispose of hazardous materials
  • Assist with tracking inventory of embalming room supplies and inform office staff of re-stocking requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive attitude and team-focused mentality. Successful Embalmers are knowledgeable, detail-oriented and compassionate in their approach. 
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of degree from an accredited mortuary college or technical school, including Funeral Director/Embalmer license in the state of Florida
Skills and Abilities
  • Full knowledge of legal regulations and best practices 
  • Willingness to learn and respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills and compassionate outlook
  • Detail oriented

Funeral Director


Job Description (Funeral Director)
Funeral Directors use their experience to serve every client with knowledge, care and professionalism. The goal in every client interaction is to compassionately guide families with through planning funeral or cremation services that honor their loved one. Funeral Directors are the main point of contact for families, guiding them through all options in funeral arranging and take care of all paperwork and coordination on the back-end to ensure a seamless experience for the families we serve. All Funeral Directors must be licensed and certified in the state of Florida.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as main point of contact for grieving families
  • Arrange funeral services based on their wishes, including informing the client of all service offerings and guiding them through the process of select that which aligns with their loved ones’ wishes
  • Inform families we serve of pricing for all our services. Discuss all options, including guiding them through the process of selecting the merchandise and any additional services based on the arrangements they select.
  • Discuss and arrange pre-need arrangements for funeral home clients as needed.
  • Ensure families’ religious and cultural traditions are respected and reflected in their arrangements. Inform families of special considerations for veterans.
  • Prepare and complete all necessary procedural and legal documentation, in compliance with Maspons Funeral Home policies and Florida state laws. 
  • Ensure all legal and procedural rules are followed at all times.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and team-focused mentality. Successful Funeral Directors are compassionate, knowledgeable and always willing to embrace new processes that improve the service we offer families. 
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of degree from an accredited mortuary college or technical school, including Funeral Director license in the state of Florida
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Skills and Abilities
  • Technology: must be proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Willingness to learn and respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills and compassionate outlook
  • Detail oriented
